Angela and Kevin Wed Amid Glorious Spring Blossoms at the Sarah P. Duke Gardens in Durham
Angela and Kevin approach the world with their own unique spin, which was fun to watch in them. Angela gave it a cute nod with the puzzle pieces she attached to her bouquet. They read, “I am weird” and “I love weird.” I like that.
Kevin had his own nod to weird with the socks worn by the men in the group. I like that, too.
The wedding took place on the intimate Frances P. Rollins overlook in the park. With its panoramic view of the pergola gardens and fish pond below, it is quite romantic and perfect for small, intimate weddings, which this was. The guitar and violin duo from Arioso Strings added to the romantic ambience. When I arrived at the overlook, they were playing, ‘La Vie en Rose,’ one of my all-time favorites. Some of the women guests came over to them to compliment them on it, so it must be a favorite for many of us ladies.
Angela was escorted down the aisle by her dad. I love these shots of him presenting her, especially the one of him hugging her. I almost never get to see the father’s face during the hug, and this shot is so touching. Kudos to the photographer, Christina Mossaad, who has graciously allowed the use of her photos in this post. They chose to write secret vows to each other, with sweet and funny references by both, and it was obvious how much it meant to them to hear what the other had written from their heart.
Note the vow booklets they used. What a sweet keepsake they will be.
After the ceremony, the guests left for the reception location and the family and Bridal Party stayed behind for photos. Note the grey and blue colors we all wore. It was perfect in that setting.
